HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICY STATEMENT

It is the policy of The Crafthub CIC to maintain a OH&S system designed to meet the requirements of its primary objectives and the purpose and context of the organisation.

  • Ensure commitment to provide safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of work-related injury and ill health which satisfies the requirements of all our customers, stakeholders and interested parties whenever possible and is specific to our OH&S risks and OH&S opportunities;

  • Comply with all legal requirements, codes of practice and all other requirements applicable to our activities;

  • Reduction of hazards by following the hierarchy of controls - Elimination of hazards, Substitution, Engineering Controls, Administrative Control, Personal Protective Clothes and Equipment.

  • Reduction of OH&S risks, prevention of injury, ill health and pollution

  • Provide all the resources such as equipment, trained and competent staff and any other requirements to enable these objectives to be met;

  • Ensure that all employees are made aware of their individual obligations in respect of this OH&S policy, and ensure that consultation and participation of workers, takes place so that they are actively involved in the management of the system and the activities supplied;

  • Maintain a management system that will achieve these objectives and seek continual improvement in the effectiveness and performance of our management system based on “risk”.

The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 imposes a statutory duty on employers to ensure in so far as reasonably practicable the health and safety of all their employees whilst at work.  This duty extends to others who may be affected by that work and to ensure that all practicable steps are taken to safeguard their health, safety and welfare.

Employees also have a statutory duty to take care of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts or omissions therefore employees at all levels are required to give the policy their support and are encouraged to make positive contribution to the improvement of health and safety in The Crafthub’s operation, by constructive suggestions which will be given careful consideration by the management team.

To enable these duties to be carried out, it is our intent to ensure that responsibilities for health and safety matters are effectively assigned, accepted and fulfilled at all levels within our organisation.
